Second Captains is an independent daily podcast made in Dublin by Eoin McDevitt, Ken Early, Ciaran Murphy and Mark Horgan.

Since 2013 we’ve been making the kind of show we always wanted to listen to ourselves: long enough to actually say something, opinionated enough to be worth disagreeing with, and rooted in football, GAA, rugby and the wider sporting culture.

The free Tuesday and Thursday shows are open to everyone. The daily Monday-to-Friday World Service podcast, every back catalogue episode, the ad-free feed and members-only events live behind a €5 a month membership.

The whole thing is listener-funded. No network, no host, no algorithm telling us what to talk about. Just us, the news of the day, and however long the conversation needs to be.
